Owensboro Catholic enters this week coming off a 47-37 district win over Todd County Central, as they’ll look to stay atop the 2A District Two standings this Thursday night at Butler County High School.

The Aces dominated Todd County Central in the first half at Steele Stadium last Friday night. Brady Atwell connected with Tutt Carrico twice within the first six minutes of the game for 36 and 32-yard passing touchdowns.

The younger Carrico, Vince, found his way into the endzone as well with a four-yard rushing touchdown to put the Aces up 20-0 early. Owensboro Catholic would enter halftime up 47-6.

The Rebels would rally in the second half, scoring four touchdowns and causing turnovers against the Aces junior varsity and freshman players. Although their late push would inevitably come up short.

Atwell put on a passing clinic Friday night, going for 481 total yards and five touchdowns. Four of those touchdowns found their way into the hands of Tutt Carrico, who had a monster game with 210 receiving yards as well as leading the Aces defense in tackles.

Owensboro Catholic will face another district opponent this Thursday night, the Butler County Bears. Butler County enters this matchup sitting at 5-1, their only loss coming to Hancock County just a week ago.
