The Brescia University men’s basketball team dropped their home opener to Bethel, 64-71. They extend their record to 1-1 on the season.

Both teams were evenly matched in the contest as the Bearcats saw themselves down by just two at half time. The Bearcats would start to gather momentum in the second period to tie the score and ultimately take the lead. The lead was eventually lost as fouls and turnovers hindered the Bearcats play late in the period. Brescia would drop the decision to the Wildcats with a score of 71-64.

Nevin Graves led the Bearcats scoring with 17 points and shooting 50% from the field and beyond the arc. Javion Johnson followed closely behind with 13 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, and a 70% free-throw percentage.

The Bearcats will travel to Murfreesboro, TN to take on Middle Tennessee in an exhibition game Monday at 11 am CT.
