Owensboro Catholic vs. Webster County

The Lady Aces were too much for Webster County on Thursday night, as the Lady Trojans were never able to exceed more than seven points in any quarter of a 61-13 loss.

Owensboro Catholic’s defense was clicking on all cylinders in the game, holding Webster County to two points in the first quarter, seven in the second, three in third and one in the fourth. The Lady Aces offense was just as hot, getting 10 different players to score on the night.

It was senior Katie Riney and junior Hailee Johnson that were the only players to finish in double figures for Owensboro Catholic, leading the way with 11 and 10 points respectively. The Lady Aces advance to 2-0 with their first road win of the season, taking a day off now before facing off against Silver Creek and Elizabethtown Saturday at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. in the Independence Bank Tip-Off Classic.

Trinity (Whitesville) vs. Muhlenberg County

The Lady Raiders struggled to find the bottom of the net at home on Thursday night, as Muhlenberg County defeated them 55-24.

Trinity (Whitesville’s) offense couldn’t get going from the jump against the Lady Mustangs, as just four players were able to score on the night. Senior Josie Aull was the only player to have more than five points for the Lady Raiders, tallying 15 to lead the way.

Trinity falls to 0-2 to start the season, as they will now take a day off before traveling for their first road game against Thomas Nelson at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
