Trinity (Whitesville) plays complete game to grab home opener against Breckinridge County

Following a strong start from beyond the arc in the first half, the Raiders were able to grind the game out in the second half and come away with a 55-46 win over Breckinridge County in their home opener.

Sophomore Hayden Aull gave Trinity (Whitesville) a spark off of the bench in the first half, drilling three shots from deep en route to 11 points. Two of his threes were in the second quarter, while seniors Nick Goetz and Nathan Hernandez hit one each to help give the Raiders a 32-27 lead at halftime.

Trinity (Whitesville) was only able to hit one three in the second half, but their ability to sink their free throws and defend helped them come away with the 55-46 win. The Raiders shot 15 free throws in the fourth quarter, sinking eight of them while holding Breckinridge County to 11 to close the door at home.

Aull and senior Landon Huff led the way with 11 points each on the night, while Hernandez and Goetz had nine each. The Raiders improved to 2-0 with the win, as they will now look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Todd County Central at 7:30 p.m.
