Boys’ Basketball recap (Feb. 23): AHS

The Eagles closed out their regular season on a high note as they beat John Hardin 62-50 at home. Apollo ended their regular season with a record of 16-13.

AHS found early success on offense as they held a 15-8 lead by the end of the first quarter. The second quarter saw John Hardin outscore Apollo 14-7 to tie up the game by halftime at 22-22. The Eagles gained a strong foothold in the third quarter as their defense held John Hardin to 7 points while they took the lead with 23 points of their own. John Hardin fought back hard in the fourth to cut the lead with 21 points, but Apollo scored 17 to hold out and take the win at 62-50. 

Leading the Eagles in scoring was Landon Henning who nearly had a triple double with 15 points, 15 rebounds and 8 blocks. Tate Powers followed behind with a three pointer and 13 points. Luke Jarboe scored 12 points while shooting 4 of 4 from the free throw night as well.
