The Hancock County Hornets continued their dominance Friday night, defeating Trigg County 64-19 at home to improve to 6-0 on the season and 2-0 in district play. Led by a record-breaking performance from senior quarterback Dylan Morris, the Hornets maintained control of the game from start to finish.
Morris threw for over 400 yards, setting a new single-game school record. He added five touchdowns on the evening, connecting with senior wide receiver along with sophomore Christian Yanez for another score.
Running back Brady Eubanks contributed two rushing touchdowns, including a score late in the fourth quarter that sealed the 64-19 victory. Senior Wyatt Emmick also found the end zone on a touchdown run early in the fourth.
Freshman kicker Uziel Munguia was perfect on the night, adding seven extra points to bring his season total to a perfect 32 out of 32.
The Hornets led 29-19 at halftime but shut out Trigg County in the second half, capitalizing on turnovers and strong defensive play to pull away.
Head coach Bobby Eubanks praised his team’s resilience.
“I’m so proud of these guys,” Eubanks said. “Special teams were huge for us tonight, and the kids fought hard, especially in the rain. They stayed focused and kept their intensity up, and it showed on the field.”
Hancock County will look to remain undefeated as they take on Webster County next Thursday at home.
