The Hancock County Hornets cruised to a dominant 52-0 win over the Ohio County Eagles on Friday night. They used a balanced offensive attack and consistent defense to move to 3-0 on the year.
Quarterback Dylan Morris led the way for Hancock County, completing 10 of 14 passes for 190 yards and three touchdowns while adding a rushing score of his own. Morris spread the ball around, connecting with Alex Madden, Jackson Morris, and Hayden Shearn for touchdowns.
The Hornets set the tone early, jumping out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter with two rushing touchdowns from Logan Emmick and a 38-yard score from Chris Gillispie.
Morris then found Madden for a touchdown before Emmick recovered a fumble, setting up another scoring drive capped off by a touchdown pass from Morris to Jackson Morris.
Before the half, Morris connected with Shearn for another score, and kicker Uzi Munguia stayed perfect on extra points, making it 42-0 at halftime.
Hancock County continued to pour it on in the second half with another touchdown to extend the lead to 49-0. Munguia added a 27-yard field goal to complete the scoring at 52-0.
With the victory, Hancock County improves to 3-0 on the season, while Ohio County continues to search for their first win. The Hornets will head to Calhoun next Friday to face district foe McLean County.
