Trailing 2-1 at the half, the Owensboro girls’ soccer team was unable to keep their momentum going and fell to Henderson County 4-1.
Goalie Drew Durz finished with 15 saves while the lone goal came when Lily Nieman assisted Caroline Smith.
“Although we lost 4-1, we played a very good game,” Owensboro head coach Sarah Poole said. “We were down 2-1 at half and played a very even 40 minutes. We had quite a few opportunities to score throughout the game and possessed the ball well. Our defense played as a unit and shut down all, but four of their advances. The defense did a good job frustrating their offense.”
