Apollo shutout McLean County, and Daviess County drew with Greenwood. In other action, Owensboro and Owensboro Catholic both fell short.
Apollo 4, McLean County 0
Laney Rhodes scored and tallied two assists, and Aby Alvarez added a goal and an assist in the E-Gals’ 4-0 win over McLean County. Aliyah Keller and Dalleigh Sullivan both scored, and Cing Kiim had an assist.
“As a team, we continue to improve, and it was a great team win,” Apollo Head Coach Kevin Peveler said. “The girls played hard and worked together to put together a good performance and get the win.”
Daviess County 0, Greenwood 0
Kaelin Labhart finished with nine saves in goal as the Lady Panthers drew with Greenwood 0-0.
“I am really proud of the way our girls played tonight,” Daviess County Head Coach Paige Crisp said. “Greenwood is a good team with a lot of speed, but our defense handled them well. Kaelin Labhart was excellent in goal and made several game-changing saves. Our midfield was able to hold onto the ball a little more in the second half and create some attacking chances. Everyone who went in the game contributed something positive, which is what we want at this point of the season.”
Henderson County 2, Owensboro 0
Scoreless late in the second half, Owensboro allowed goals in the 62nd and 79th minutes in their 2-0 loss to Henderson County. Hayley Sikes finished with nine saves in goal.
“We played a very good defensive game and connected well in the offensive, but we struggled to finish,” Owensboro Head Coach Sarah Poole said. “Overall, I am proud of the girls and their effort.”
Bowling Green 6, Owensboro Catholic 0
Felicity Payne finished with 12 saves in net in the Lady Aces 6-0 loss to Bowling Green.
“The girls didn’t play their best, but they finished the game with effort,” Owensboro Catholic Head Coach Meg Patton said. “I am always proud of my girls and have the utmost faith in the postseason. Bowling Green is a great team.”
