Hancock County lit up the scoreboard Friday night, piling on 48 first-half points en route to a 62-13 rout of Ft. Knox.

Kalab Helms led the charge with 94 yards and two touchdowns on just four carries, while Cooper Jones added 71 yards and two scores on three carries. Ross Powers chipped in with a 32-yard rushing touchdown as the Hornets’ ground game overpowered the Eagles from the start.

Quarterback Brady Eubanks was efficient through the air, completing 5 of 9 passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Tripp Hager added a passing touchdown on a 34-yard strike while also rushing four times for 34 yards and another score.

Graham Shearn hauled in two catches for 71 yards and two touchdowns, and Hunter Greathouse caught two passes for 57 yards and a score. Kicker Anthony Dubon was perfect on extra points throughout the night.

“I’m proud of our effort,” head coach Bobby Eubanks said. “It was great to come off a bye week and put together a really nice showing. We locked in a home playoff game and earned a chance to play at home another week.”

With the win, Hancock County improved to 6-3 on the season and will look to carry the momentum into its regular-season finale next week at Bethlehem in Bardstown.
