The Trinity Lady Raiders volleyball program is headed to the regional tournament for the 20th consecutive year after defeating Edmonson County 3-0 on Tuesday night.
Emmy Edge finished with 13 assists, six digs, and three service aces to help power Trinity past Edmonson County 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-18) and secure their spot in the 12th District Championship. They play Thursday evening at 6 p.m. against Grayson County.
Laney Mills led the Lady Raiders in digs with 12, while Ella Morris finished with nine digs and four kills. Annie Coomes added four kills and two blocks, Ava Coomes had four kills and three blocks, and Gracie Mills posted four kills.
“I thought we played well,” Trinity (Whitesville) Head Coach Adam Huff said. “We had a game plan that we were able to execute pretty well, and it allowed us to be aggressive with our offense. We hope to carry that momentum into Thursday against Grayson in the Championship.”
