Daviess County beat Owensboro Catholic in an important 9th district match, while Apollo beat Hancock County. In other action, Trinity (Whitesville) held off Ohio County at home.

Apollo 3, Hancock County 0

Avery Gray finished with a team-high nine kills, seven digs, and four service aces, while Maddi Roberts had 14 assists and three digs in the E-Gals’ 3-0 win (25-12, 25-13, 25-13) over Hancock County. Keelan Wettstain recorded seven digs, five kills, and two service aces, and Jessie Pate added seven digs and four service aces.

Daviess County 3, Owensboro Catholic 2

Ava Martin finished with 17 kills, 16 digs, three blocks, and one service ace in the Lady Aces’ narrow 3-2 (13-25, 25-19, 25-23, 21-25, 14-16) loss to Daviess County. Mayme Powell recorded a team-high 46 assists and added seven digs, three kills, and one service ace, while Molly Arnold had 20 digs. Addie Oller recorded 17 kills, four digs, and two service aces, and Emma Castlen posted nine kills, five digs, five service aces, and two blocks.

Trinity (Whitesville) 3, Ohio County 2

Emmy Edge finished with 33 assists, 16 digs, and three kills to power the Lady Raiders past Ohio County 3-2 (25-19, 22-25, 17-25, 25-20, 25-12). Ava Coomes recorded 12 kills and two blocks and Lilly Goetz added 15 digs, eight kills, and four service aces. Ella Morris had 22 digs and four kills, Laney Mills added 14 digs, and Annie Coomes finished with six kills and two blocks.

“We played really well for most of the night,” Trinity (Whitesville) Head Coach Adam Huff said. “Our energy was great, which elevated our game as we needed it. This was probably our best effort of the season, and as a coach, this is the time of the year to be playing your best.”
