Hosting Edmonson County, Daviess County tennis continued their dominant season, with the Panthers and Lady Panthers winning 4-1 and 9-0.
Emmie Kate William’s led the way for the Lady Panthers, winning her singles match 8-0, while Kate Mason (8-0), Camille Shutt (8-2), and Sadie Meyer (8-0) were all victorious. The doubles teams of Jenna Faulkner and Claire Dunlay, and Gianna Falcone and Vivi Castlen both won 8-0.
On the boys side, it was a rematch of last year’s 3rd Region Championship between Landon McDuffee and Brayden Johnson, with the Edmonson County star once again emerging victorious (6-4, 6-2). On the next court, Walt Yeiser took care of business, winning 8-2. Due to limited numbers, Edmonson County’s boys’ and girls’ teams both had to forfeit three matches.
“I am proud of the team,” Daviess County Head Coach Dylan McDuffee said. “Landon had a tough match against a great opponent. I am very proud of the girls too. They have carried the momentum from Spring Break and are taking care of business.”
