It was a busy day for the coverage teams, as Hancock County went 2-1 in the Kentucky All “A” Classic Statewide Softball Tournament and Daviess County finished 3-0 in the Clark’s Pump N Shop Invitational. In other action, Owensboro Catholic swept their doubleheader, while Owensboro dropped their doubleheader.

Daviess County Clark’s Pump N Shop Invitational run

Competing in the Clark’s Pump N Shop Invitational, Daviess County finished the day 3-0, beating Eastern 6-0, Great Crossing 5-0, and Male 8-0. Storey Hume, Sadie Beauchamp, and Sophia Cain combined for 16 shutout innings and 16 strikeouts.

In their win over Male, Callie Smith finished 3-3 with two RBIs, Molly Hancock tripled twice, and Shelby Bennett went 1-3 with an RBI,

Hancock County All “A” Tournament run

Competing in the Kentucky All “A” Classic Statewide Softball Tournament, Hancock County finished the day 2-1, dropping a heartbreaker to Somerset 7-6, but beating Holy Cross (Louisville) 15-3, and Hickman County 6-5. In their win over Holy Cross, Madyson Higdon and Audrey Carnes combined for seven hits and six RBIs, while Gracie Gaynor went 4-5 with an RBI. Bell Bryant started in the circle, throwing two shutout innings, while Ryleigh French pitched in relief.

Owensboro drops doubleheader

The Lady Devils finished their doubleheader 0-2, losing to Bowling Green 13-3 and Crittenden County 16-13. Against Crittenden County, Hayley Sikes went 4-5 with three homers and three RBIs, while Ayrish Barksdale went 2-3 with a homer and four RBIs.

Owensboro sweeps Catholic doubleheader

Competing in the Logan County Triangle, the Lady Aces went undefeated, beating Edmonson County 7-2, and Logan County 10-1. Against Logan County, Ava Mudd allowed one earned run over five innings, while Evelyn Chelstrom threw two shutout innings in relief. At the plate, Lily Logsdon went 2-4 with two RBIs, and Mudd drove in a pair of runs.
