Traveling to Warren Central, McLean County softball ended the regular season on a high note, sweeping the doubleheader. In the opening game of the night, a 19-1 victory, the Lady Cougars jumped out to a 3-0 first-inning lead thanks to an Ava McCarty three-run single.
The Lady Dragons scored their lone run in the bottom of the first, and McLean County responded with five runs in the third, seven runs in the fourth, and four runs in the fifth. Kayden Stokes, Raylee Neal, and McCarty combined for four hits and nine RBIs, and Adalynn Estes finished 2-4 with two RBIs. McCarty threw a complete game on the mound, striking out five and giving up one unearned run over five innings.
In the second game of the evening, a 20-1 rout, Maci Geel was a difference maker on both ends. The senior struck out four and gave up one unearned run over three innings, while at the plate, she scored twice and driving in a run.
Kyra Nichols hit three doubles and drove in three runs, Stokes and Neal both drove in a pair of runs, and Estes scored four runs.
