Officials investigate suspicious fire in Pleasant Ridge

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office along with Daviess County Fire and Masonville Volunteer Fire Departments were dispatched to a residence in the 3900 block of Highway 764 in the Pleasant Ridge community where caller advised central dispatch that unknown subjects tried burning down their residence.

According to the caller, he was inside the residence and stated he smelled something burning. He got up to check his kitchen and when he turned the light on he noticed smoke. He then went outside to check the back of his residence where he had some work done to his HVAC unit, but then noticed the back wall of his residence to be on fire, he started spraying water on the wall while his wife who had been asleep called 911.

The Daviess County arson investigator along with the Kentucky State Police arson investigator were called to scene to assist. At this point, the fire is still under investigation and is considered suspicious.
