Bar Louie announced they have permanently closed their Owensboro location.

A sign posted on the door reads, in part:

“Owensboro, we’ll miss you! After years of great food and drink at our favorite bar on Frederica Street, we have closed our doors for business.”

Owensboro’s Bar Louie, located at 234 Frederica Street in the bottom floor of the building, opened in late 2017.

The Owensboro location’s Facebook Page is no longer active, and Owensboro is no longer listed among the company’s locations on their website. Calls to the Owensboro location went unanswered.

In January 2020, Bar Louie filed for bankruptcy and closed dozens of its gastrobars in the process. Managers at the Owensboro location at the time said their restaurant wouldn’t be affected and would remain open.

At the time, a press release from the company said Bar Louie expected to emerge from bankruptcy within 90 days.

The closest Bar Louie is in Evansville, with the next closest locations being a pair in Nashville.
