Hillcrest offering intro to golf camp; Ben Hawes hosting PGA Jr. League

Hillcrest Golf Course is hosting Junior Golf Camp this June to introduce local youth to the game. For youth looking for a competitive league, Ben Hawes Golf Course will offer the PGA Jr. League that runs from May-July.

The intro camp at Hillcrest will teach fundamental golf mechanics (grip, stance, swing, putting and chipping), along with game rules and course etiquette. This is a beginner level golf camp with emphasis on the children having fun and learning some basics about golf.

The camp runs form June 12-16, and the deadline to register is June 9. Ages 6-8 will attend daily from 8:30-9:45 a.m., with ages 9 and up from 10:15-11:30 a.m.

The fee is $60 per person and includes range balls, gifts, and prizes. Equipment is provided for students if needed. The maximum class size is 15 students.

The PGA Jr. League a Ben Hawes is designed to teach young golfers how to improve their game in a team setting.  

Through the months of May-July, teams will play and practice on the Par 3 course. At the  conclusion of the league, players will be selected to form an All-Star team that will compete to be the Kentucky state champions.  

The registration deadline is April 30. The individual fee for this league is $225 per player and includes a PGA Junior League jersey, hat, and league bag tag.
