Owensboro native Kelsey Starks is premiering her new show “Inside Louisville” on KET this month, where she will be talking with newsmakers and personalities as they discuss the traditions of Louisville.
Starks said that Louisville has been her family’s home for more than a decade and the new show will allow viewers to learn more about the Commonwealth’s largest city.
“I’m delighted to be hosting a new KET production that gives viewers a chance to get to know some of the city’s most interesting people and also highlight what makes Louisville such a great place to live,” Starks said.
“Inside Louisville” premieres July 9 at noon on KET. Starks said that they plan for 40 episodes to air each, following a different person.
“We’re thrilled to offer viewers across Kentucky a new way to explore Louisville and meet the people who bring the city to life,” said Shae Hopkins, KET’s executive director and CEO. “As Kentucky’s largest city, Louisville plays a pivotal role in the Commonwealth, and we look forward to showcasing everything that makes it special.”
Starks originally began working on the show last summer.
“Its been an adventure. I have not had the opportunity to build something from the ground up before. When they came to me and offered the opportunity last summer, I wasn’t looking for a full-time position, but it’s my dream job to have a talk show where I get to interview really interesting people and share interesting stories of Louisville,” Starks said.
Starks said each interview left her inspired by their stories.
“You have to hear them to hear their full story,” she said. “It’s a lot of people you may know or have heard of.”
