Editor’s Note: An earlier version of the story stated the city was spending $2.25 million on the spring paving. After discussing with City officials, that was shown to be the year’s total and not the spring total.
The City of Owensboro is spending over $634,000 to repave approximately 3.5 miles of roadway this spring. Here’s the full list of which roads will receive attention.
The City budgeted $2.25 million for the year’s repairs.
Work has already begun in some areas. The City has already completed storm and sewer repairs on West 3rd Street from South Ewing Road to Sutton Lane, Edwards Street from West 2nd to West 3rd streets, and Sutton Lane from West 2nd to West 3rd streets.
In addition, the Regional Water Resource Agency is actively working on West 6th Street from Jed Place to Jeff Place, and Jeff Place from Cravens Avenue to West 4th Street.
The following streets are on the City’s repaving list:
- Moreland Avenue from West 7th to West 9th streets — Street crew working
- Pearl Street from East Parrish Avenue to its southern end — Contractor working on curb repairs
- 7th St from J.R. Miller Boulevard to St. Ann Street — Prep work complete
- Reno Way from Bluegrass Commons to Chippewa Drive — Prep work complete
- Frayser Avenue from West 2nd Street to 4th Street
- East 3rd Street from Frayser Avenue to Maple Street
- Maple Street from East 2nd to East 4th streets
- Center Street from East Parrish Avenue to its southern end
- Hathaway Street from East Parrish Ave to it’s southern end
- East 14th Street from Triplett Street to Breckenridge Avenue
- East 15th Street from Triplett Street to Breckenridge Avenue
- East 16th St from Triplett St to Breckenridge Avenue
- Tamarack Road from Imperial Drive to 13 Tamarack Road
