Habitat for Humanity Owensboro-Daviess County is clearing out its warehouse to make space for upcoming builds, offering the community a chance to score discounted items during a rare off-schedule “Name Your Price” warehouse sale this Saturday.
The sale begins at 8 a.m. at Habitat’s warehouse, located at 2930 West 4th Street. All items are first-come, first-served, and donations will be accepted in lieu of set prices. Payment options include cash, check, credit card, Venmo, or PayPal.
Items available include building materials, appliances, new and replacement windows, interior and exterior doors, furniture, and more. All merchandise is housed indoors, so the event will be held rain or shine.
“While it’s unusual for us to hold a sale of this scale outside of our regular schedule, we find ourselves in urgent need of warehouse space,” said Office Manager Desiree Cecil. “Thanks to a generous grant that will fund materials for five new homes, we need to quickly clear out our current inventory. It’s a good challenge to have—and one that directly supports our mission.”
Proceeds from the sale will go entirely toward Habitat’s build fund, with no administrative costs deducted. As part of the organization’s model, customers will be checked out by participants in the Homeownership Program.
“We’re fortunate to have funding that enables us to purchase materials in bulk, which significantly reduces construction costs,” said Charlie Kamuf II, Vice Chair of the Habitat Board. “That savings goes directly back to the future homeowners. Stewardship is a core value for us, and every dollar counts.”
