Billy Strings fans who missed out on tickets for his sold-out September 6 show at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum have another shot — and it comes with extra perks.
The Hall of Fame is raffling off a concert package that includes two tickets to the show featuring Strings, Bryan Sutton, and Royal Masat, plus two museum admission tickets and a hotel stay for the night. The prize is valued at $350.
Raffle entries are $100 each, and entries can be purchased at bluegrasshall.org/raffle — the only official entry site. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit museum.
The raffle closes at 11:59 p.m. on August 28. A live drawing will be held at noon on August 29 on the Hall of Fame’s Facebook page.
Strings, a two-time Grammy Award winner, and Sutton, a renowned guitarist, will perform September 5 and 6 at the Hall of Fame & Museum this fall as part of an intimate tour supporting their surprise new live album. Tickets for the limited-capacity shows were originally available exclusively through a lottery system. Notifications were sent in April to let people know if their ticket request was fulfilled or not.
The fall tour, including stops at Lexington’s Rupp Arena, Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, Chattanooga’s The Signal, and Boone, North Carolina’s Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts, will feature Strings and Sutton joined by bassist Royal Masat.
Strings’ and Sutton’s new collaborative album, Live at the Legion, features 20 traditional bluegrass and folk songs, including new renditions of Bob Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright” and Doc Watson’s “Way Downtown.”
The album’s release follows a banner year for Strings, who earned a Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album with Live Vol. 1, debuting No. 1 on Billboard’s Bluegrass Albums chart. His latest studio album, Highway Prayers, also topped Billboard’s all-genre Top Album Sales chart — becoming the first bluegrass album to do so in 22 years.
