It was a productive day for the local teams as Daviss County and Owensboro both won.
Daviess County 4, Madisonville-North Hopkins 1
Molly Floyd and Sasha Foster both scored and tallied an assist to power the Lady Panthers past Madisonville-North Hopkins 4-1. Mary Evelyn Wiman and Eve Kinison both scored, while Bailey Brown recorded an assist. Kaelin Labhart and Delaney Maher split time in net, combining for five saves.
“We were a little slow today, but looked better in the second half,” Daviess County Head Coach Paige Crisp said. “I feel like we’re improved quite a bit since the beginning of the year and are ready to finish out the last week of the regular season.”
Owensboro 8, Muhlenberg County 1
Lily Neiman recorded a hat trick and tallied three assists and LP Early scored twice in Owensboro’s 8-1 win over Muhlenberg County. Ella Hall added a goal and two assists, making her the school’s all-assist leader. She also set the school’s single season record for assists. Amelia Calhoun scored twice and recorded two assists, while Hayley Sikes had a save in net.
“We started slow with Muhlenberg scoring first in the 18th minute,” Owensboro Head Coach Sarah Poole said. “We woke up after that and put some plays together. The girls passed well today and were working the ball into the attack often.”
