One suspect is facing new charges of murder (complicity) and second-degree assault (complicity) in connection with the fatal Knottsville shooting on Saturday morning, and investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying a vehicle that may have been near the scene, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office said Monday night that detectives have developed additional information that led to the new charges against Ayden Farrow, 19, of La Grange. Farrow was already being held in the Daviess County Detention Center on charges of hindering apprehension or prosecution in the first degree and tampering with physical evidence.
The charges stem from the shooting death of Brody Lanham, 19, of Knottsville. Authorities announced Monday that Lanham was the victim who died in the shooting, which occurred early Saturday morning near KY 144 and St. Lawrence Road in eastern Daviess County. A juvenile who was also struck by gunfire suffered several gunshot wounds but has since been treated and released from the hospital.
Authorities said detectives are also seeking information about a white SUV that was in close proximity to the shooting. Investigators believe the occupants or owners of the vehicle may have witnessed the incident but are not considered suspects, according to DCSO.
Authorities said the other suspect, James Semaj Carr, 20, surrendered Sunday night to Florence Police in Boone County. DCSO announced that detectives have taken custody of Carr and transported him back to Owensboro, where he was lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center. Carr is charged with murder, second-degree assault, and tampering with physical evidence in connection with the shooting.
