Families across Owensboro are invited to spend an afternoon outdoors this Saturday at the annual Longest Day of Play event at Thompson Berry Park. The free event will include games, inflatables, food, and activities designed to bring neighbors together.

The free community is scheduled for June 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the park, located at 1 Carter Road. Organizers say the event will be held rain or shine and is designed to bring neighbors together for a day of recreation, family activities, and community engagement.

According to the Audubon-Bon Harbor Area Neighborhood Alliance, the event will feature inflatables, outdoor games and activities, a nine-hole miniature golf course, balloon art, popcorn, snow cones, and other family-friendly attractions. Free food will also be available.

“Our goal is to create a fun, welcoming environment where families can come together and enjoy an afternoon of play and connection,” organizers said in promotional materials for the event.

The Longest Day of Play is organized by the Audubon-Bon Harbor Area Neighborhood Alliance, one of several neighborhood alliances supported through the City of Owensboro. Organizers said the event is intended to encourage outdoor activity while strengthening connections among residents, local businesses, and community organizations.

Admission is free and open to the public.
