After taking the oath of office during a special called meeting at 5 p.m. today, the Owensboro Board of Commissioners will hear the first reading of an ordinance to reinstate nonpartisan primaries in future elections. Also on the agenda is the presentation of the 2020 Cap Gardner Award, given annually to the City of Owensboro Employee of the Year.
Daviess Circuit Court Judge Jay Wethington will administer the oath of office to the Board of Commissioners.
In other business, the City will elect the Mayor Pro Tem as well as make numerous board and personnel appointments. The full meeting agenda is available here.
