This is a story in a series on local high school athletes signing to continue their athletic and academic careers at the next level.
Apollo wrestler Cameron Baker is keeping his talents in town next season as he’ll be a Kentucky Wesleyan Panther next season.
Baker went 30-9 last season for the Eagles at 160 pounds and finished runner-up at the 2nd Region Tournament.
How does it feel to finally know where you’re going to attend next year and to make it official?
I’m really excited.
Why did you choose the school you did?
I chose KWC partly because it is close to home. But more than that, it is a perfect fit for me and will allow me to achieve my goal of continuing my wrestling career.
What stood out about the program and the coaches?
I really liked how Coach McCabe presented the program and I feel that KWC is evolving into a really good program.
What are you going to study?
I will be studying Physical Therapy
What are you going to miss about your team and school?
5. Everything. I have really enjoyed my time with my classmates and the lifelong friendships I have made. I have enjoyed my time on the baseball field, football field and especially the wrestling mat.
