Tahlia Walton, Kaylee Clifford, and Lily Miller of the Kentucky Wesleyan College women’s basketball team have been selected to the Great Midwest All-Conference Team, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon. The trio earned Second Team selections while Miller has also earned a spot on the G-MAC All-Defensive Team.
The Panthers produced the second-best record in 2020-21 and have earned their third consecutive trip to the G-MAC Championship Semifinals after a win over Trevecca on Tuesday evening. Clifford started all 21 games this season and holds a scoring average of 10.6 points per game. This season Clifford has scored 223 points, surpassing 1,000 career points earlier this year against Ohio Valley.
Clifford is second on the team in scoring and currently sits fifth in the G-MAC with 20 blocked shots this season. Her six rebounds per game average ranks 18th in the league as well.
Walton leads the Panthers in scoring, averaging 12 points per game. This season Walton has recorded 88 rebounds and 22 steals. She also holds a lofty .559 shooting percentage. Walton scored a season-high 20 points this season against Malone, including the game-winning basket at the buzzer.
Like Clifford, Miller has been a staple in the starting line-up for four seasons. Miller started 20 games this season averaging, 7.6 points per game. The conductor of the offense Miller has a team-best 83 assists this season, a total that ranks sixth in the league. Miller usually gets the toughest defensive assignments as she has made 22 steals on the year. The Panthers ranked third in the G-MAC, allowing 68.1 points per game.
