Pair of KWC softball players earn All-Conference honors

After the first two games in the tournament bracket, the 2021 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Softball All-Conference Team was released in front of the fans at Marathon Diamonds on Thursday morning. Evyn Hendrickson and Meryck Hardley each were voted by the league’s coaches to First Team All-Conference.
 
Evyn Hendrickson finished a sparkling season last week as she posted a 9-11 record with one save. She set a program record with 196 strikeouts in a single season. She also set a G-MAC and program record with 16 strikeouts in a single game. On the year Hendrickson posted a 3.08 ERA average and completed 129.2 innings. She also pitched 19 complete games and four shutouts.
 
Hendrickson was moved into the outfield midway through the season and got 85 at-bats. On the year she posted a .306 batting average with five double, two home runs, and 15 RBIs.
 
Meryck Hardley finished the year with an impressive .392 batting average, a total that ranked ninth in the G-MAC this season. Hardley scored 23 runs, recorded three double, two triples, and 15 RBIs. The Panthers’ lead-off hitter stole seven bases in nine attempts.
