Wonder Whip raised $7,691.54 after promising that 100% of Wednesday’s sales would go toward Goodfellows Club, with the money dedicated to helping meet the needs of local schoolchildren.

While the amount raised was slightly less than last year’s amount of $8,300, Wonder Whip owner Seth Woodward was pleased they have been able to provide nearly $16,000 to the club in two years.

At around 2 p.m. Wednesday, Woodward said that the restaurant had drawn quite a few customers already.

“We’re having big crowds and we’re selling lots of food and we’re selling some gift certificates and hoodies to kick in some extra money and … I’m happy [with the turnout so far],” Woodward said.

Along with profits from food, Woodward offered gift certificates and hoodies for sale.

Of this year’s total amount, $1,620 was made from hoodie sales and $315 was made from selling gift certificates.

“We’re pretty happy with this number,” Woodward said. “It would not have been possible without the generosity of our community and hard work of our team.”
