Nicki Davis has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. So earlier this summer, she opened a new salon called Glow Beauty and Co. in The Thatch Shopping Center on Sweeney Street.
“I am always thinking of ideas for a business Owensboro doesn’t already have, and then get the itch to open it,” she said. “I know we have plenty of salons in town, but I wanted to offer a different type of salon experience. I wanted to create a beautiful and inviting space that gives a super upscale vibe.”
Davis is a licensed cosmetologist of 20 years. According to the Glow Beauty website, Davis specializes in hair extensions and all things skin care. S
Davis is bringing on massage therapist Alicia Hamilton, and she’s also looking to add eight other stylists along with a nail or lash artist.
“I would definitely like to put emphasis on bringing in other stylists and nail or lash artist, and make-up artist for booth rental,” she said.
Davis said this winter she will have a 1,500-square-foot space available for rent for events such as wedding showers, mini-markets, birthday parties and more.
