Local band Ole 60 recently signed a record deal with Nashville-based Grey Area. The 5-piece band, featuring artists from Owensboro, Hawesville, and Tell City, is eager to begin producing music and playing shows both locally and across the country.

The band includes Jacob Young on vocals and guitar, Ryan Laslie on lead guitar, Tristan Roby on rhythm guitar, Aden Wood on drums, and Colby Clark on bass. Young and Roby began playing together in a shed in Maceo before meeting Laslie and moving their jam sessions to Galaxy Pizza in Hawesville after their shifts.

“Ryan was introduced to the group in February of 2023 by his older brother Bradley, owner of Galaxy Pizza, where Jacob and Ryan both worked for extended periods but were never employed simultaneously,” said manager Ty Little. “The three started practicing at Galaxy after they closed in the evenings.”

During these practices, they began throwing names around, eventually landing on Ole 60, the route Young took to Roby’s house when they first started playing.

Young began writing songs in 2021, introducing them to the group and eventually recording with Justin Eckerd in Bowling Green. This past August, they released a 4-song EP titled “three twenty-four.”

“It was through this EP that Aden, hailing from Tell City, IN, was first introduced to the band. He heard the music and immediately reached out to offer his services on the drums, and they never looked back,” Little said. “Colby Clark, the guitar player turned bass player, joined in January of 2024, and they began playing full band shows in late January.”

The band is excited to produce new music with the latest Grey Area partnership.

“The guys are all super excited about the deal and very eager to get to work,” he said. “It’s a very intimate operation, and everyone is very hands-on. We’ve got a great team around us, and we can’t wait to get to work.”

Ole 60 also joined forces with United Talent Agency out of Nashville for assistance with booking.

“They’re getting us some really cool shows booked, so the goal for the future is to get on the road and play some shows,” Little said. “This being said, the main goal will always be to make music that we love to play.”

The band will perform at Brasher’s Lil Nashville in Owensboro on March 16 and The Astra in Jasper, IN, on April 13. Visit Ole 60 on Facebook here for updates and tour dates.

“We’re excited to play shows close to our home, friends, and family,” Little said. “Come out and listen to good music and have a great time.”
