Wright Implement is combining horsepower and heart for the inaugural Pullin’ for Puzzle Pieces — a full-day tractor pull and fundraiser at the Daviess County Lions Club Fairgrounds. Organizers anticipate more than 4,000 attendees and promise a packed schedule with two pulling tracks, a sensory-friendly experience, family activities, and a vendor fair — all capped off with a fireworks show.
The event, set for August 2, will benefit Puzzle Pieces, a local nonprofit that supports individuals with disabilities and their families.
“We’ve got something for everyone at the Pullin’ for Puzzle Pieces event,” said Alexandria Haire, Targeted Engagement Manager at Wright Implement. “Enjoy inflatables, music from a live DJ, vendors, and a variety of food truck vendors offering sweet treats and specialty items not available through the Lions Club concessions.”
The event will feature special pulling classes for kids and women. The day’s activities will also include a Sensory-Friendly Truck and Tractor Touch Experience from 1-3 p.m., offering a more accessible option for individuals who may find the main pull overwhelming. Admission for this portion is $5 per person ages 6 and up.
Attendees to the main event can take advantage of early bird pricing now through July 26, with discounted tickets available in person for $10 at the Owensboro Wright Implement location. After that, tickets will be $15 at the gate.
Wright Implement is still accepting vendor applications. Booth spaces are $50, with an optional $25 fee for limited indoor space. Food trucks are not permitted, but dessert vendors are welcome.
Tickets and vendor applications are available here.
Another element of the event is the newly renamed Wright Implement Arena, made possible through a strategic partnership and facility investment by Wright Implement.
“This spring there were some pretty significant storms that caused damage to the arena’s roof,” said Eric Miller, president of the Daviess County Fair Board. “There was also some outdated signage from a sponsor that no longer exists. So, we entered into a strategic partnership with Wright Implement to rename the stadium. This is a wonderful way for companies and local businesses to work with the Lions Club to increase use of the fairgrounds and support our community.”
Haire said the upgrades to the arena reflect Wright Implement’s broader mission of community investment.
“Wright Implement is deeply rooted in the communities we serve, and when the opportunity arose to support an event that benefits Puzzle Pieces — an organization doing life-changing work for individuals with disabilities — we knew we wanted to be involved in a meaningful way,” Haire said. “The improvements not only enhance the venue for this event but also leave a lasting impact for future community events held there.”
Proceeds from the event will support Wright Implement’s participation in the 2026 Puzzle Pieces Lip Sync Battle, with funds going directly toward enhancing the nonprofit’s services, programs, and resources for clients and their families.
“Wright Implement continues to go above and beyond in their support of Puzzle Pieces,” said Amanda Owen, Executive Director of Puzzle Pieces. “After their incredible commitment during last year’s Lip Sync Battle, we’re thrilled to see them take their involvement to the next level by hosting Pullin’ for Puzzle Pieces. This event showcases not only their creativity, but their deep dedication to our mission — and we are so grateful for their partnership.”
Looking ahead, Haire said the hope is to make the event a yearly tradition.
“Wright Implement hopes to establish this as an annual tractor pull event that supports a nonprofit cause each year,” she said. “We’re excited about the potential to grow this event year after year and keep it rooted in purpose, partnership, and community support.”
