The Daviess County Public Schools Board of Education will host a “Listen and Learn” session starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at Meadow Lands Elementary School, 3500 Hayden Road.

“The DCPS Board of Education began its ‘Listen and Learn’ series a few years ago and hosts two sessions a year at various schools across the district,” said Lora Wimsatt, DCPS Public Relations Coordinator. “Regular meetings of the Board are always open to the community with an opportunity for public comment, but these special ‘Listen and Learn’ sessions are specifically designed to provide an opportunity for everyone, including parents and students, to share suggestions and comments or ask questions.”

Specific questions the school board will ask are:
· What does DCPS do well?
· What needs to improve or change?
· What can the school board do to address these needs?
· How can we improve our school and district communication?

Board of Education members Dr. Tom Payne (chairman), Frank Riney, Dale Stewart and Todd Anderson will be present, along with DCPS Superintendent Matt Robbins.

There will be another session at 6 p.m. March 7 at Burns Elementary School.
