Gov. Bevin appoints two local businessmen to Ky Boards and Commissions

Gov. Matt Bevin has appointed Phillip L. Castlen and Alex G. Bryant as members of the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 6th Judicial Circuit and District of Kentucky.

Phillip L. Castlen, of Owensboro, is a farmer. He will serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2022.

Alex G. Bryant, of Philpot, is an insurance agent. He will serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2022.

Judicial Nominating Commissions are composed of seven members, including the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, two members of the Kentucky Bar Association, and four members appointed by the Governor from among persons not members of the Kentucky Bar Association. Of these four members, there are two representatives of each political party.
