The Owensboro Theatre Alliance, a collaboration of the theatre departments of Kentucky Wesleyan College, Brescia University and Owensboro Community and Technical College, will present “Legally Blonde the Musical”  Feb. 21 to 23 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. at the Jody Berry Cabaret Theatre at the RiverPark Center.

Based on the modern classic MGM film, the story follows blonde and rich Elle Woods. She is about to marry her college sweetheart and be a normal Malibu housewife, when he tells her he needs “less of a Marilyn and more of a Jackie” and breaks up with her to attend Harvard Law School and pursue his political goals. Heartbroken, she decides to also go to Harvard and win him back. In her pursuit, she discovers much about the world, her ex-boyfriend and herself.

Dennis Jewett is the music director and Nate Gross is directing the play. Both are Wesleyan faculty members. Students with many majors and faculty from the three institutions are involved in the production.

Tickets are available at kwc.edu and are $10 for students, $15 for staff and faculty of the three institutions and $18 for general admission.
