The Cottage Farm Stand & Baking Co. will host their first annual Local Artisan Festival this weekend at their store in Sorgho. This event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Over 20 local artists will be featured at this festival. Vendors will be selling handmade items such as home decor, jewelry, and apparel. The artist booths will be located outside in the front yard.
Several fall themed hay bale and corn stalk sculptures are available for photo opportunities. These sculptures were created by employees of The Cottage and feature “The Muffin Man,” “Chicken of the Corn,” and many others.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite Harvest Scene where local groups and businesses are competing to win a cash prize. Mums, pumpkins, and corn stalk decorations will also be for sale.
“This is the perfect place to get outside, enjoy our inviting patio and support our local artists and crafters,” said Marlene Knight, Owner of The Cottage Farm Stand & Baking Co. “We’re so excited for the community to discover locally owned businesses and get a jump on holiday shopping this year.”
The Cottage Farm Stand & Baking Co. has been open since August. They offer a wide array of homemade sweet and savory muffins, (some packaged in their signature egg cartons), cookies, soups, canned goods, and breakfast sandwiches. They feature a full service coffee bar as well.
