UPDATE – 1:40 p.m.

The statewide driver’s license mainframe is back up and running with limited abilities to process certain credentials. Circuit Court Clerk Jennifer Hardesty Besecker advises that people call before coming down to the office. She said to be sure to check Facebook, where they will post when they are able to issue licenses, CDLs, permits and transfers! The number for the Driver’s License is 270-687-7225.

Circuit Court Clerk Jennifer Hardesty Besecker is asking those that visit the Driver’s License Office this morning to be patient as the state of Kentucky is experiencing widespread mainframe issues.

“We will try our best to get you in and out as quickly as possible, but these issues are out of our hands,” she said.

According to Hardesty Besecker, the source of the problem is the Kentucky Driver’s License system, which issues licensees and IDs.

“There was an update this weekend [to the system], but I don’t know  if there is any correlation or not,” she said.

Hardesty Besecker said people can check the Circuit Court Clerk Facebook page for updates.
