With three suspicious structure fires in Daviess County in the past week, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Kentucky State Police arson investigators and Daviess County Fire Department to find those responsible.

Major Barry Smith of DCSO said that so far, there seems to be no correlation among the three fires other than location.

The first fire was Wednesday night after dark, but the two that occurred over the weekend were both in daylight.

“The one on 231 had extreme damage and was pretty much destroyed, but it was unoccupied,” Smith said. “The first and third fires, both in the 764 area, had significant damage, but someone was home, which helped with the damage.”

Two of the three had occupants when the fires were being set during the day, Smith said.

Masonville Fire Department posted on social media they needed the public’s help to find those responsible for the fires that seem to have been intentionally set.

If you have any information regarding these fires, please contact Lieutenant Spurrier at DCSO at 270-685-8444 or call the Arson Hotline at 1-800-27-ARSON.
