OPD releases name of infant, suspect in death investigation

Names have been released by the Owensboro Police Department in an ongoing case involving a 7-month-old infant that died from injuries sustained earlier this month.

According to reports, the 7-month-old victim has been identified as Janessa Keserich, of Owensboro. The person of interest has been identified as Kyle Aubrey, 33, of Owensboro. Both Keserich and Aubrey died on Feb. 11.

OPD was dispatched to the 500 Block of East 27th St. on Feb. 8 for a medical call involving a 7-month-old infant. The child was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital initially and ultimately taken to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville. Detectives were notified on Feb. 11 that the child died from the injuries.

According to a press release, the Louisville Metro Police Department is opening an investigation into Aubrey’s death in Jefferson County.
