Both Owensboro and Daviess County public schools will remain closed through at least April 17. Gov. Andy Beshear on Friday recommended that schools remain closed an additional two weeks as Kentucky continues to deal with the spread of COVID-19.

Schools were previously only closed through April 3.

OPS and DCPS will both continue to serve free meals to anyone under 18 throughout the extra two weeks. Non-Traditional Instruction will continue during this time, with the exception of spring break.
