The Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce has cancelled all events for the remainder of March, including this month’s Rooster Booster.

“We realize that the recent events regarding the COVID-19 pandemic have created unprecedented circumstances,” Chamber President and CEO Candance Brake said in a statement Monday afternoon.

“We are continuing to participate in discussions with the U.S. Small Business Administration, United States Chamber, Kentucky Chamber and with key stakeholders to monitor potential economic disruptions and to seek assistance for our local businesses and employers.”

Other events that have been cancelled include DC Fly-In, Legislative Update, Leadership Owensboro, Teachers in the Workplace, Chamber Young Professionals Events, Ribbon Cuttings, New Member Breakfast, Ambassador’s Luncheon and Investor’s Luncheon.

The Chamber offices will be closed to outside visitors beginning Tuesday, though the staff will continue to work.

“Please know we are here for you to help in any way we can,” Brake said. “We will do everything possible to remind the Owensboro community that shopping Owensboro is now more important than ever.”

“While there are many unknowns, we know one thing for sure – we are truly all in this together and we will get through it.”
