Daviess County Public Schools announced Thursday that all DCPS schools will be closed and school-related events canceled, starting at the end of the school day on Friday. Schools will be closed for two weeks until April 6.

During this time, all school-related and school-sponsored trips are also canceled, school officials said.

Like OPS, DCPS will implement Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) that provides a learning experience for students outside the classroom.

“We encourage all students to be at school on Friday, March 13 so information on NTI can be provided to students before schools are closed. This is crucial for the success of the NTI days for our district.”

DCPS Superintendent Matt Robbins said he would continue to keep parents and students informed as the situation progresses.

“Please be assured that all decisions are made based on what we believe is best for our students, staff, families and greater community,” Robbins said. “Your support and cooperation are appreciated as, together, we navigate this unique situation.”
