Owensboro Health is inviting the community to join together Sunday night in supporting the healthcare workers and staff at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

This drive-in prayer vigil will enforce social distancing practices by allowing those who’d like to support OHRH to park their cars in the hospital parking lot and remain in their cars during the vigil, which is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.

“Let’s show that we’re in this together, even if we’re six feet apart,” Owensboro Health said.

The prayer vigil will last until 7:09 p.m. when the sun goes down. At that point, those in their cars can flash their headlights as a token of their appreciation and encouragement toward those battling COVID-19 on the front lines.

According to Owensboro Health, this event was organized by a community resident, Jackie Howell Tipmore, who saw a community in Georgia hold a similar event for its healthcare workers on CNN.
