The RiverPark Center announced Monday that it is in the process of rescheduling or cancelling events until May 15 in response to the recent recommendation by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

On Sunday, the CDC recommended that there be no gatherings of 50 or more people for the next eight weeks to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. Examples include conferences, festivals, parades, concerts, sporting events, weddings and other types of assemblies.

According to the statement by RPC, performances and events are in the process of being rescheduled, postponed until further notice, or canceled. Events and performances dated after May 15 will take place as planned.

“We are working through a complex situation that involves multiple touring shows, contracts negotiations and trying to find ways to postpone the currently booked shows rather than cancel them entirely,” said RPC Executive Director Rich Jorn. “This is taking time, but we will communicate all of our information directly to patrons via email, on our social media and through local media. The health and safety of our community is of the utmost importance and we appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue to navigate this situation.”

All patrons will be given the opportunity for a refund or to turn their ticket purchase into a tax deductible donation, according to the statement.
