City, County parks to open Monday

Next week, parks across Owensboro and Daviess County will reopen as a part of phased economic reopening plan.

June 29 openings:

  • City and County playgrounds
  • Combest Swimming Pool
  • Park restrooms at Ben Hawes, Chautauqua, Dugan Best, Kendall-Perkins
  • Travis Aubrey Skate Park

July 3 openings:

  • Spray parks at Smothers, Legion and Kendall-Perkins parks

Owensboro Transit System will be offering free rides to these recreational amenities during this time. All riders must wear a mask.

According to Daviess County Fiscal Court, some park amenities like spray grounds and some sport courts and fields remain closed until further notice. 

Social distancing of at least 6 feet is still encouraged.
