COVID-19 update: 6 cases, 11 recoveries, 0 current hospitalizations for district

There are currently zero patients from the Green River District hospitalized for COVID-19, and 85 percent of confirmed cases in the area have now recovered. A total of six more cases and 11 more recoveries from the virus were reported Wednesday for the district.

New cases were confirmed in Davies (4), Henderson (1) and Ohio (1) counties. Recoveries were in Daviess (6), Henderson (2) and Ohio (3) counties.

Of the 731 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 619 (85%) have now recovered and 87 (12%) have required hospitalization. There are no patients currently hospitalized, and there have been 12 deaths — seven in Daviess County, four in Henderson County, and one in McLean County.

The county totals are:

  • Daviess County – 344 cases, 301 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 34 ever hospitalized, 7 deaths
  • Hancock County – 9 cases, 8 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 1 ever hospitalized
  • Henderson County – 122 cases, 103 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 29 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
  • McLean County – 25 cases, 23 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 4 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Ohio County – 181 cases, 139 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 11 ever hospitalized
  • Union County – 15 cases, 12 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 1 ever hospitalized
  • Webster County – 35 cases, 33 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 7 ever hospitalized

Patients range in age from 7 months-93 years old, with an average age of 43. To date, 53% of patients have been male and 47% have been female. Cases by age range are (not all demographic information is available yet because of late and incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • <1 — 2 cases
  • 1-11 — 13 cases
  • 12-19 — 28 cases
  • 20-29 — 129 cases
  • 30-39 — 164 cases
  • 40-49 — 157 cases
  • 50-59 — 105 cases
  • 60-69 — 74 cases
  • 70-79 — 32 cases
  • 80+ — 23 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
