COVID-19 update: 34 cases, 53 recoveries reported for district

A total of 34 more cases of COVID-19 and 53 recoveries from the virus were confirmed Tuesday for the Green River District.

New cases were in Daviess (9), Henderson (10), McLean (1), Ohio (10), Union (1) and Webster (3) counties. Recoveries were in Daviess (23), Hancock (2), Henderson (10), McLean (3), Ohio (7), Union (5) and Webster (3) counties.

Of the 1,483 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 1,180 (80%) have now recovered and 132 (9%) have required hospitalization. There are 25 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been 18 deaths — Daviess County (7), Ohio County (5), Henderson County (4), McLean County (1), and Webster County (1).

The county totals are:

  • Daviess County – 647 cases, 537 recovered, 12 current hospitalizations, 54 ever hospitalized, 7 deaths
  • Hancock County – 36 cases, 32 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 3 ever hospitalized
  • Henderson County – 294 cases, 220 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 33 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
  • McLean County – 40 cases, 34 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 5 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Ohio County – 343 cases, 261 recovered, 8 current hospitalizations, 25 ever hospitalized, 5 deaths
  • Union County – 48 cases, 36 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 2 ever hospitalized
  • Webster County – 75 cases, 60 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 10 ever hospitalized, 1 death

Patients range in age from 7 months-95 years old, with an average age of 43. To date, 49.7% of patients have been male and 50.3% have been female. Cases by age range are (not all demographic information is available yet because of late and incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • <1 — 3 cases
  • 1-11 — 38 cases
  • 12-19 — 97 cases
  • 20-29 — 272 cases
  • 30-39 — 289 cases
  • 40-49 — 272 cases
  • 50-59 — 203 cases
  • 60-69 — 166 cases
  • 70-79 — 83 cases
  • 80+ — 56 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
