COVID-19 update: 1 death, 29 cases, 18 recoveries reported for district

A total of 29 more cases of COVID-19 and 18 recoveries from the virus were confirmed Wednesday for the Green River District. The first coronavirus-related death in Union County was also reported.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (13), Hancock (2) Henderson (9), Ohio County (3) Union (2)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (8), Hancock (1), Henderson (5), McLean (1), Ohio (1), Union (2)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 2,061
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 1,747 (85%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 17
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 179 (9%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 27

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 941 cases, 796 recovered, 9 current hospitalizations, 75 ever hospitalized, 10 deaths
  • Hancock County – 52 cases, 47 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 4 ever hospitalized
  • Henderson County – 422 cases, 348 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 45 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
  • McLean County – 54 cases, 49 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 6 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Ohio County – 397 cases, 349 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 28 ever hospitalized, 9 deaths
  • Union County – 86 cases, 67 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 6 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Webster County – 109 cases, 91 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 15 ever hospitalized, 2 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 7 months-95 years old
  • Average age: 42
  • Male: 48.8%
  • Female: 51.2%

  • <1 — 5 cases
  • 1-11 — 57 cases
  • 12-19 — 160 cases
  • 20-29 — 400 cases
  • 30-39 — 373 cases
  • 40-49 — 366 cases
  • 50-59 — 277 cases
  • 60-69 — 227 cases
  • 70-79 — 125 cases
  • 80+ — 67 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
