A Daviess County Grand Jury recently indicted two Owensboro residents for attempted murder in two separate incidents that occurred on the same day in mid-September.

Three major incidents occurred in Owensboro-Daviess County on Sept. 20, including a suicide and two separate altercations that led to attempted murder charges.

Stephanie L. Millay, 43, was indicted on four counts each of attempted murder and first-degree wanton endangerment. According to OPD, Millay fired shots at two people in an occupied vehicle two different times — once in the 4200 block of Thruston Dermont Road and again on KY 54. Millay also crashed her vehicle into the victim’s vehicle in the Meijer parking lot, according to officials.

According to officials, the incident was believed to have been tied to a family-related disagreement involving the visitation rights of a juvenile who was not present during the incident.

Harold D. Sanders, Jr., 31, was indicted on attempted murder of a police officer for allegedly stabbing an OPD officer in the face, resulting in injuries that landed Austin Esther in the hospital with a large facial laceration.

The grand jury also returned an indictment of first-degree robbery regarding a separate incident wherein Sanders was accused of attacking and robbing an individual at Kendall-Perkins Park.
